And even more water.
In the Drôme des Collines in general, but especially on our spot, there is a lot of water in the ground. It can rain heavily here. The rainwater then flows down the hills into the valley in huge quantities over the compact, heavy clay soil. And afterwards, we are often treated to a rainbow! The picture below is not tricked.
Water from below
But the water on our plot comes up from the Earth and there is also a spring. Hard to believe, but during the two hottest weeks of the summer of 2025, our well overflowed. Next to the well, a pool of water formed, a draw for frogs.
When I am in the raw nature of our place, or I go the through the mountain
then I feel the grandeur of nature, of Mother Earth, and deep respect. It makes me feel small.
Blue wellness
Nowadays, everything we need as a basis for a healthy life is presented to us as scarce and/or polluted.
Yet here, on our spot, we experience it differently, namely “pure and from the abundance that nature provides”.
Although water is plentiful here, but it does not stand out. The only blue is the sky.
Direct contact with water, as with a flowing stream or river, would have an extra beneficial effect here. We have therefore planned to build a swimming pool in the future (just need to save some money).
Healing home
More than five years ago, we once said to each other that we wanted to create a “Healing Home” in the future, where people could go to heal and vitalise. How that would look like and where, we had no idea at the time. Now it seems as if we ourselves are the first ones to go into healing here. And that afterwards a formula will be born to open this place and our energy to others.
Water from above
Water from above also demands our attention. Especially on 16 November 2025, when a lot of water washed away the newly constructed embankment. Our beautiful new terrace was flooded with soil and clay: what a mud! (Read more about this in blog)
Coincidentally, we had talked at length about water-shortages at neighbours’ tables the night before. So now nature is showing us water-in abundance again!
