And about mud.

After our experience with the roof (read this blog), we were ready for a project that runs smoothly. The next item on our list, though, was the paving on our property. Even though this house is from the 19th century, no resident had yet built a proper path around the house. In the covered area near the front door, where we park our car, it was still the original clay-like earth, with some very old dried-up cow pat. In front of the house, it was paved with some kind of graval. Weeds grew profusely there. In the beginning, we tried to pull out the weeds by hand so that they would not overgrow the house. Given the number of square metres, it became a full-time job! Well, we didn't think that was a good idea.

10-day event on the doorstep

After months of preparation with the company we both choose, works started on 17 September: the whole team, on time, with all the materials and tools. Exactly as agreed, such a relief! Consultation with the men was excellent. They worked well and every hour our house became more beautiful. It was like putting a frame around a beautiful painting. All in all, it was quite an experience with all the earth-moving machinery, trucks, concrete mixers and pump trucks on site. The team also left everything tidy, even after repairs had to be made later. We are happy to make a recommendation for this company!

More than just comfort

We knew we would gain a lot in comfort (to walk or sit by the house) once the terrace was laid around the house and concrete poured under the canopies. And that had worked out well too. The house as a whole had been very much refurbished, including in terms of appearance. We both experienced that the energy around and within us was refreshed. A very special experience, that was comparable to cutting tall grass (read this blog).

Afterwards, it even seemed like we had changed ourselves in a positive way! How can that possibly be? We thought about that, of course. In this project, we were a TEAM, we had consulted well and listened to our own feelings. Both of us had confidence in the professionalism of this company. This all seems obvious and an easy statement. But obviousness is a big trap! And we already had faced that pitfall recently. So, once again we learn how subtly and in layers we get our life lessons. Do you have the courage to face your own creations ?

Mud

Waking up during a cloudburst on a Sunday morning, looking out of the window and ...oops! Our beautiful terrace was flooded! All the water from the slope was coming down. Such an abundance! More on in this blog. Flooding? What wants to happen here? Neither of us feel fear about this, but an invitation to further explore our own power and nature!
